As times develop, the pace of God’s working ceaselessly moves forward. Years flew past, and in an instant it is the end time. The prophecies spoken by the Lord Jesus are being fulfilled one by one. However, many brothers and sisters think that since not all the prophecies concerning the Lord’s coming have been fulfilled, it is not yet the time for the Lord to come. So, when hearing others preach that the Lord Jesus has come, they cannot believe or accept this fact. About this issue, we should first know that God comes to the earth to do his work according to his own management plan and mankind’s need, not according to the prophecies, much less is it restricted by the prophecies. Of course, when God comes to the earth to do his work according to his plan and mankind’s need, it fulfills and accomplishes some prophecies then. But because the prophecies are things God Godself will accomplish and are very profound, no man can understand and fathom them before they are fulfilled. Only when God has done a certain new work and had certain prophecies fulfilled and man has received the Holy Spirit’s inspiration can man understand the inner meaning of the prophecies and make certain that the prophecies have indeed been fulfilled. Thus, it is up to God Godself when he does a certain new work and has certain prophecies fulfilled. For example, when Jesus came to the earth, he did not come after all the prophecies in the Old Testament were fulfilled. Rather, according to God’s own plan and mankind’s need, it was the time God ought to be incarnated to work, so he came to the earth practically and was crucified for redeeming all mankind, which was not restricted by the prophecies in the slightest. Just as Almighty God says, “When Jesus spoke and worked at that time, he did not keep regulations. He did not work according to the work of the law of the Old Testament, but according to the work he ought to do in the Age of the Grace. He worked according to the work he brought, according to his own plan, and according to his ministry, but not according to the law of the Old Testament. He did not do anything according to the law of the Old Testament. He did not come to work for fulfilling the words of the prophets. In each stage of work, God does not come to specially fulfill the prophecies of the prophets of old, and he does not come to keep regulations or purposely accomplish the prophecies of the prophets of old. But what he does does not contradict the prophecies of the prophets of old or disturb his former work. The outstanding characteristic of his working is that he does not keep any regulations but does the work he ought to do. He is not a prophet or a foreteller, but a ‘doer,’ practically doing the work he ought to do, opening his new era, and carrying out his new work. … If God came to earth to work only for fulfilling the words of the prophets of old in the Bible, do you think the incarnated God is greater or the prophets of old are greater? Do you think the prophets of old direct God or God directs the prophets of old? How should you explain this?” (from The Word Appears in the Flesh)
From this we can understand the relationship between God’s working and the prophecies. It is that first there is God’s working and thus the prophecies are fulfilled, not that first there are the fulfillments of the prophecies and then there is God’s working, much less that God comes to do his work only after all the prophecies are fulfilled. Thus, if we want to make certain whether it is God’s new work, we should seek and confirm from God’s new word and work. Only after we know God’s new work can we understand a little about the fulfilled prophecies. Besides, we should also have a humble and seeking heart. If we do not have the attitude of seeking and investigating, we can hardly receive the inspiration and guidance from the Holy Spirit. So, even though the prophecies have been fulfilled, we cannot understand them. From this we can know that it is obviously unworkable that we judge whether it is God’s new work according to whether the prophecies are fulfilled. For example, John 4 records the course of a Samaritan woman knowing Jesus. Because Jesus’ word disclosed all that she ever did, she recognized Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah who was prophesied to come. (cf. John 4:15-29) From this story we can see that the Samaritan woman recognized Jesus as the Christ from his word and saw that the prophecy that Messiah would come had been fulfilled. If she had not had a thirsty and seeking heart and had not discerned Jesus’ substance by investigating his word, she could not have recognized Jesus as the Messiah who was prophesied to come, and could not have known that the prophecy that Messiah would come had been fulfilled. Also, Acts 8 records the story of Phillip preaching the gospel to a eunuch. At that time the eunuch was reading the prophecy of Isaiah, “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.” But the eunuch did not know whom “he” in the prophecy referred to, that is, did not know in whom this prophecy would be fulfilled. Then Phillip preached to him about Jesus. When the eunuch knew a little about Jesus’ work, he naturally knew that this prophecy had been fulfilled, and “he” in the prophecy referred to Jesus. Let us consider: When the eunuch did not know Jesus or Jesus’ redemptive work, how could he know that this prophecy had been fulfilled? How could he know that this prophecy had been fulfilled in Jesus? There are many such cases, which all show that man knows the fulfillment of the prophecy only after he knows Jesus. If one does not pay attention to knowing God from God’s work and word but tries to find out whether the prophecies are fulfilled, and he refuses to accept God’s new work when the prophecies are not fulfilled, he will be a failure by believing in God this way. For example, although many prophecies were fulfilled when Jesus came to work, the priests, scribes, and Pharisees in the temple did not discern Jesus from his word and work, much less have a heart to seek and investigate, but condemned and rejected Jesus and finally nailed Jesus onto the cross, committing a monstrous sin. As they did not receive the word of Jesus’ mouth humbly or accept the work Jesus did, how could they see the fulfillment of the prophecies?
Likewise, today, in the end time, we should discern whether Almighty God is the return of Jesus from the word and work expressed by Almighty God, and should see whether the prophecies in the Revelation concerning the Lord’s return have been fulfilled. Today, according to his management plan and the end-time people’s need, God has been incarnated and come to the world again, and done a stage of work of judging and chastising and refining and purifying man with the word, to save man completely from sin and defeat the old satan completely, and in the end divide all men into their kinds and reward the good and punish the evil, thus accomplishing God’s six-thousand-year management plan. At the same time, God makes public all his disposition, so that all mankind can, from the word he expresses and the judgment work he does, see that God has really come to the world, see that Almighty God incarnated this time is exactly God’s personal appearing, and is exactly Jesus’ coming again, and see that Jesus’ prophecies in the Bible and the prophecies in Revelation have begun to be fulfilled one by one. As Almighty God says, “If men only remain in the Age of the Grace, they can never break away from their corrupt disposition, much less know God’s original disposition. If men always live in abundant grace but do not have the way of life through which to know God and satisfy God, then they cannot truly gain God while believing in God. Such a belief is too pitiable. After you have finished reading this book and after you have experienced the incarnated God’s steps of works of the Age of the Kingdom, you will feel that your wish of years has finally come true, feel that today you have really seen God face to face, seen God’s face, heard God’s personal utterance, and tasted God’s working wisdom, and truly feel that God is so practical and God is so almighty. You will feel that you have gained many things that men of former times did not see or gain. At that time, you will clearly know what it means to believe in God and what it means to be after God’s heart. Of course, if you hold on to your past viewpoints and reject and do not accept the fact of God’s second incarnation, then you will only be left with empty hands and gain nothing and eventually end up with the charge of resisting God. Those who can obey the truth and obey God’s work will all come under the name of the God incarnated the second time—the Almighty. All these people will be able to receive God’s personal leading, gain more and higher truths, gain the true human life, and see the vision that men of former times did not see: ‘And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the middle of the seven candlesticks one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like to fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.’ (Revelation 1:12-16) This vision is the expression of all God’s disposition, and this expression of all God’s disposition is the very expression of the work of the God incarnated this time. In the torrents of chastisement and judgment, the Son of man expresses his original disposition in a way of uttering his voice and speaking, causing all those who accept his chastisement and judgment to see the true image of the Son of man. This image is just the true portrayal of the Son of man’s image that John saw. Today, we have seen God’s appearing from Almighty God’s work and word, known that the incarnated Almighty God is precisely the return of Jesus, and seen that the prophecies concerning the Lord Jesus’ return have been fulfilled. We are wild with joy, and eagerly tell this heart-stirring gospel to every brother and sister who have been expecting the return of the Lord Jesus for many years. We hope that the brothers and sisters will quiet your heart to make a good investigation of Almighty God’s end-time work and word. Now the incarnated God’s work of salvation in Mainland China has come to a close, and he will soon appear publicly to all nations and all peoples. Then it will the time great disasters fall down, and the time God punishes all the evildoers. If we always hold on to the viewpoint that “we won’t believe until we see all the prophecies are fulfilled,” but do not come to know God’s appearing from Almighty God’s word and work, we will eventually become the ones who resist God. Let’s listen to Almighty God’s exhortation, “Maybe many people do not pay attention to what I am saying. But I still want to tell every so-called saint who follows Jesus: When you see with your own physical eyes Jesus descending from heaven on a white cloud, it will already be the time the sun of righteousness appears publicly. At that time, you may be beside yourself with excitement. But have you ever known this: When you see Jesus descending from heaven, it will be the very time you go to hell to receive punishment. That will already be the time God’s management plan is declared concluded and the time God rewards the good and punishes the evil. This is because God’s judgment has ended at the time when people have not seen miraculous signs but only the truth is expressed. Those who accept the truth without seeking for miraculous signs and thus are purified will have returned before God’s throne and into the bosom of the Creator. Only those who hold on to one belief that ‘the Jesus who does not come on the white cloud is a false christ’ will suffer eternal punishment, because they only believe in the Jesus who can perform miraculous signs but do not acknowledge the Jesus who expresses severe judgment and releases the true way of life. Dear brothers and sisters, we should drop our notions immediately and accept God’s judgment and purification so as to be saved by God before Almighty God’s work of judgment ends, that is, before the period when God works in a hidden way to save man is over. If we still wait to seek God until the prophecies in the Bible concerning the Lord’s coming have all been fulfilled according to our human imaginations, or when God descends publicly from heaven on the white cloud, everything will be too late; the door of grace will be closed, and only God’s everlasting punishment will be awaiting us.
